Holiday Snowflake Centerpieces

I was hired to make holiday party centerpieces. These are the samples I came up with. The materials: blank sheets of paper, blue ribbon, silver wrapping paper, and shoe boxes. I went for simple but elegant. They are meant to resemble holiday gift boxes.

It's kind of off season but oh well.

Music Sheet Flowers

Another project I came across online: the complex rose design. The materials: music sheets, hot glue, bamboo skewer, scissors. The process: 5 sizes of petal shapes, cut five of each size (25 total), roll edges with bamboo skewer, and starting with the middle metal glue layers of petals around

These paper flowers look very elegant and are great decorations

Wine Bottle Series

This was a centerpiece project involving wine bottles. The materials included: 8 wine bottles (different shapes and sizes), paint, cardstock, tape, comic book pages, maps, peeled crayons, hot glue guns, music sheets, toothpicks, scissors, paintbrushes, and sponges

Process: covering bottle in tape designs, painting, letting paint dry, peeling off the tape

Process: Ripping up comic book pages, gluing and layering with a collage process

Process: coat of black paint, cutting spirals of cardstock and rolling into flowers, leaf shapes, hot gluing

Process: same as comic book bottle with a world map

Process: coat with black paint, chopping up crayons, hot gluing and melting in spiral patterns

Process: coat with black paint, cut cardstock flower shapes, glue and roll edges with toothpicks, leaf shapes, hot glue

Process: same as comic book bottle

Process: coat with black paint, sponge with purple and dark blue paint, splatter white paint with tooth brush

This was a lot of fun. I experimented with all different types of designs. I will definitely be trying more wine bottle involved projects in the future.
