Complex Origami Stars

Jo Nakashima's complex origami stars tutorial is fantastic and I tried my hand at some and they are super fun to make. The only materials required are 6 1-inch strips of colored paper and glue.

What's wonderful about these is the cute, chunky size.

Paper Weaving

Papermatrix is my favorite downloadable design website. I especially love this paper jar. The instructions aren't great but you can figure it out based on the photos of the process. The materials required are colored paper, glue, and scissors.

They're a great decoration piece and look pretty impressive too.

Micro Blocks

I love Max Brenner chocolate. I love the flavors, I love the textures, and most of all, I love the presentation. It was only natural that I kept these Max Brenner tins and at some point, found a creative use for them. I took inspiration from the lovely Lea Redmond's tiny kits. So here we are with micro blocks. Made from an origami technique these small cubes fit in the palm of your hand. The label explains the rest:

Origami Fidget Toy

The origami fidget toy ended up a total accident. I was trying to create a different complicated origami design and ended up inventing this. It can twist and turn in a bunch of directions and is a great toy for idle hands. My friends often come over and pick it up without even realizing it. The design is made up of  96 7cmx7cm sheets of colored paper and one large white sheet glued to the back of the 16 squares.

It's colorful and silly just as a good fidget toy should be.

Five Petal Flower Ornaments

These flower ornaments are super easy to make. They are made of cardstock, scissors, and string. I included some photos of the process. As you can see, the basic idea is that you slide the petals together with the small cuts on each point.

These ornaments are great to hang on a christmas tree or to use as a hanging decoration in your room.

Gift Bag Flower Ornaments

A friend taught me how to make these gift bag hanging flower ornaments. Materials include 8 gift bags, string, scissors, double sided tape, and a hole punch. From the photos you can follow the process. First cut off the bottom parts of the gift bags. Then cut the other end into a triangle shape. Organize colors in green, pink order. Punch a hole through all 8 bags, tie with string, and use double sided tape to tape all bags together

Fast and easy to make, these are great hanging decorations for a dorm room.
